The Edmonton Shetland Sheepdog Fanciers Club, or SSFC, was founded in 1968 by a dedicated group of seventeen dog enthusiasts who shared a passion for dog training. Over the years, we have evolved into a registered member of the Canadian Kennel Club, promoting responsible breeding and ownership of Shetland Sheepdogs and supporting Shetland Sheepdog breeders in our community.
Smart, loyal, and full of energy, the Shetland Sheepdog—often referred to as the Sheltie—is a devoted family companion. Originally hailing from Scotland’s Shetland Isles, these dogs excel in dog training, dog sports, and conformation shows, always ready for adventure or a cuddle on the couch.
