Our History

The Edmonton Shetland Sheepdog Fanciers Club, or SSFC, was founded in 1968 by a dedicated group of seventeen dog enthusiasts who shared a passion for dog training. Over the years, we have evolved into a registered member of the Canadian Kennel Club, promoting responsible breeding and ownership of Shetland Sheepdogs and supporting Shetland Sheepdog breeders in our community.

Sheltie Information

What is a Sheltie?

Smart, loyal, and full of energy, the Shetland Sheepdog—often referred to as the Sheltie—is a devoted family companion. Originally hailing from Scotland’s Shetland Isles, these dogs excel in dog training, dog sports, and conformation shows, always ready for adventure or a cuddle on the couch. With their striking double coats and keen intelligence, Shetland Sheepdogs are playful, alert, and happiest by your side. If you're looking for a new pet, consider reaching out to Shetland Sheepdog breeders who can help you find the perfect match.
